Ferrari’s season is sadly shaping up to be one of the most disappointing in the history of the Scuderia, and now, after the results of the Singapore Grand Prix, six races from the end of the season, Carlo Vanzini, the voice of Formula 1 on Sky Sport Italia, strongly criticized Maranello’s team, expressing his opinion on what can only be described as a thoroughly underwhelming campaign for the team led by Frederic Vasseur.
During the post-race segment “Debriefing,” Vanzini stated: “I don’t know what else to say. Honestly, I was looking at the standings after the summer break: 96 points for Red Bull with just one driver, 91 for McLaren, 89 for Mercedes, and only 40 points for Ferrari since the break. I simply see the awareness of what you actually have in your hands. If you always find an excuse, a reason in the execution, Saturday here, Friday there, and something else over there… If you don’t realize the zero you are at, you will remain a zero.”
The Sky commentator then added: “I think it’s essential to have a face-to-face discussion with everyone, from the logistics staff who ship Ferrari parts all over the world, down to the drivers and the president. Everyone needs to look each other in the eye and put their ideas on the table. This is one of the lowest moments for Ferrari in Formula 1. It’s not just Carlo Vanzini saying it — the numbers say it, Charles Leclerc says it, and Lewis Hamilton says it.”
The feeling is that, without a concrete and immediate turnaround, Ferrari risks ending yet another season without a significant victory, remaining trapped in a crisis that now appears to be structural.
