Charles Leclerc’s commitment to the Prancing Horse goes far beyond merely wearing the red suit. The Monegasque driver joined Ferrari back in 2019 with the ambition of bringing a title back to Maranello, which has been missing for too long. Despite several dark moments, the number 16 has never doubted, even for a second, the choice made, reaffirming once again the intention to win with the Maranello team.
Charles Leclerc reiterates the desire to win exclusively with Ferrari
“The renewal? We are slowly starting to talk about it,” the Monegasque had stated in the summer. “I haven’t set any specific deadlines. I still feel that a year and a half is a long way to go, but I haven’t set any particular deadline.”
“To be honest, I haven’t thought about it yet. When I say we started talking about it slowly, it’s only here and there, but nothing special or specific. I’m not saying I want to keep my options open. Ferrari is the team that helped me get where I am. I’ve never hidden that I’m always extremely happy to be at Ferrari.” – the Monegasque pointed out, ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Team principal Frederic Vasseur, asked about the drivers’ renewal issue, had deferred any discussion to the end of the season, with Charles Leclerc expected to sign, on paper, an extended contract for his Ferrari adventure.
“Ferrari is really special. I wouldn’t change my position with anyone else on the grid,” the Ferrari driver said in a recent interview for ESPN on the eve of the Las Vegas weekend. “Do I want to win the championship? Of course, but do I want to change my place with someone? No.” – he added.

Even in a season literally monopolized by the Max Verstappen – Red Bull duo, Charles Leclerc has managed to secure four pole positions, although Ferrari’s only victory was achieved by his teammate. Securing Charles Leclerc represents the first piece for the Prancing Horse to lay the foundation for a future that must inevitably be much brighter than the current situation.
