The presentation of a new Ferrari
The big day for Ferrari has finally arrived. At 11:30 on the morning of Friday 23 January, the presentation event of the SF-26 got underway. This is the first single-seater from the Scuderia di Maranello designed in full compliance with the new technical regulations, which revolutionise chassis, power units, fuels and tyres, forcing the Grand Prix paddock into a clean break with the recent past of ground-effect cars.
The 2026 car is the 72nd Formula 1 car in Ferrari’s history, the second of Lewis Hamilton’s career in red and the eighth for Monaco’s Charles Leclerc. It is also the first car of the new era shaped by Loïc Serra. The former Mercedes engineer became technical director following the departure of Enrico Cardile and officially took up his role in the autumn of 2024, when the SF-25 had already been largely signed off by the previous technical management.

Below are the first 3D images released by Scuderia Ferrari as part of the presentation of the new SF-26.
As widely expected after the unveiling of Lewis Hamilton’s and Charles Leclerc’s race suits, the livery features an even greater use of white. This colour appears on the engine cover area and around the cockpit, in a stylistic choice that closely recalls the look adopted during the 2016 season.
Beyond the colour scheme, one key technical choice immediately stands out: Ferrari have opted for push-rod suspension at both the front and rear, in line with what has already been seen on the Haas VF-26, which was presented earlier in the week. As far as can be judged from the first virtual images, the car also features a particularly slim and sharply pointed nose.
Not just 3D renders: the Ferrari SF-26 on track at Fiorano
The launch of Ferrari’s new single-seater is not limited to the virtual world. In addition to the 3D renderings, and following the example set yesterday by Mercedes, the debut day of the Prancing Horse under the new 2026 regulations is enhanced by the most traditional of track baptisms.
The Ferrari SF-26 is in fact taking part in a 15-kilometre shakedown, specifically permitted under the Formula 1 World Championship regulations, on Ferrari’s home circuit at Fiorano. The bridge overlooking the track has been packed with fans since dawn, eager and hopeful as they gather to welcome the birth of a new Ferrari.
