Vasseur: “From Barcelona we will start the work of understanding and validating the SF-26”
The Ferrari team principal is already focused on the first test of the season.
There’s a new Ferrari in town
Fiorano welcomed the first kilometers on track of the brand-new Ferrari SF-26 with its usual warmth, despite the foggy and rainy conditions that greeted the new Formula 1 car. The livery is brighter and glossier, with a more striking white visually, but it will be the technical solutions chosen under the new regulations that make the difference for a Ferrari eager to end its long wait for a world title.
Vasseur, focused on testing
In the press release issued by Ferrari for the SF-26 presentation, team principal Frédéric Vasseur shared his first comments, keeping expectations realistic and maintaining the low profile the team has held throughout the winter.
The French manager explained: “The SF-26 marks the start of a new cycle for Formula 1 and for Ferrari, with new rules for the chassis, the power unit, new fuels, and tires with different characteristics all coming into play in the same year. This car is the result of great teamwork and represents the beginning of a completely new path, built on different rules where all competitors will face numerous uncertainties.”
After the standard remarks, Fred Vasseur emphasized: “The team is aligned and more united than ever in view of the season ahead. From next week in Barcelona, we will begin the work of understanding and validating the car. In this first phase, the priority will be to learn as much as possible and start building solid foundations on which to plan our work leading up to the start of the season.” – the French manager concluded.
