Ferrari SF-23 Updates: Fred Vasseur confirms “more parts coming soon”. Vasseur confirms "more parts coming soon".

Significant feedback
The Spanish Grand Prix weekend was highly anticipated by everyone within the Scuderia Ferrari team. The introduction of the first significant updates to the SF-23 was seen as an important step in shaping the future of the Maranello team, both in this championship and beyond. For now, after experiencing the practice sessions and especially the qualifying, the partial assessment appears positive, as stated by team principal Frederic Vasseur. Saturday provided contrasting emotions, with Carlos Sainz securing the front row but also Charles Leclerc’s bitter elimination in Q1.

Satisfaction and options for the future
These two contrasting results, however, do not seem to be directly related to the new components installed by the men and women of Maranello on the red car. For this reason, speaking to the microphones of Sky Sport F1, Frederic Vasseur focused mainly on the difficulties caused by intermittent bad weather in Barcelona, which didn’t help the Ferrari pit wall decipher the collected data perfectly.

The French manager commented: “I am satisfied with the updates we have brought, especially because we are opening up two options for future development. It was a good move, but it wasn’t easy because the weather was inconsistent, and when you introduce new parts, you need more consistent weather.”

A race to study thoroughly
Looking ahead to the race, Frederic Vasseur hinted at expecting different dynamics compared to what has been seen so far over the weekend, also influenced by what should be a significant change in temperatures. He added: “On Friday, we did a decent job, but the reality of the race will be different, and I believe the track temperature will be lower. We will see where we stand tomorrow compared to before, although I am quite optimistic because we have done good work.” – the French manager pointed out ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix.

New parts on the way
The timid positive signs shown by the SF-23 car are encouraging, also considering the traditionally representative nature of the Barcelona circuit. Those who perform well on this track usually have a competitive car for most circuits. For this reason, Frederic Vasseur has announced upcoming upgrades, hoping to continue the process of understanding and evolving the car. He concluded: “We know that Barcelona represents a good mix of various tracks and is representative if you compare it, for example, to Montreal. There is a good mix of slow, fast, and medium-speed corners. If you are in good shape here, you are in good shape anywhere. We will need to work on the package to improve the overall level of the car. I think it is a good approach to bring updates, and we will bring more parts soon.” – the Ferrari boss concluded.
