Just a few days until the first race of the 2022 Formula 1 season, as Scuderia Ferrari is in the process of analyzing the important data which Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have collected during the three days of testing at the Bahrain International circuit last week.
Data that also suggests an important detail which hasn’t been seen for some years in Maranello, as confirmed by formu1a.uno. No performance anxiety at any time of day. At the same time it was is easy for the Ferrari drivers to deliver good times with different loads of fuel and with the different compounds, in particular the C3 and C2 which will be the two softer compounds in the first weekend of the season that is scheduled for the end of the week. From this point of view, only in the pre-season testing for the 2017 championship was Ferrari so pleased with the results, when the SF70H responded well on track. That year, the car made its competitive début at the 2017 Australian Grand Prix, where it finished first and fourth in the hands of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen respectively.
The good characteristics seen in Barcelona, such as braking and the speed is slow corners, have been confirmed. The last point, which was less visible in the first two days of testing in Bahrain, improved significantly on the last day of testing when the many setup tests made in relation to the various updates of the floor brought to the track were abandoned. The ‘Mclaren style’ floor specification gave the best results. It was thus possible to concentrate on improving the setup for the next weekend and the F1-75 has returned to shine in the slow corners, losing only slightly performance in the medium and fast corners.

But could the Ferrari F1-75 car win at the Bahrain International Circuit? Nobody can know for sure, not even in Maranello, and it will depend on many factors, not only performance but also the reliability of the whole car, for example. Certainly this is the question that many fans and observers are asking, but – after some time – also direct opponents. Mattia Binotto has revealed the cards and has not bluffed: the two cars can find themselves in a very narrow margin of 2 tenths. With the unknown factor of W13. Much will depend on how well the various teams are able to do their homework, i.e. extract the maximum performance in this week of analysis.
formu1a.uno also revealed another interesting fact: Ferrari is also satisfied with the livery used in Barcelona and Bahrain. It will obviously also remain in the next races while the ‘stylistic’ part of the team is working to create partially celebratory liveries for Monaco and Monza.
