Ferrari has unveiled the special livery that will feature on the SF-26 cars of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc at the 2026 Italian Grand Prix. The Scuderia will take the new colours onto the track at Monza from Friday, when the Formula 1 weekend begins with the opening two free practice sessions.
The Ferrari 2026 Monza livery is inspired by Michael Schumacher and the 1996 season, the seven-time world champion’s first year racing for the Maranello team. Schumacher drove the Ferrari F310 that season and claimed three victories, winning in Spain and Belgium before triumphing at Monza for the first time in his career.
Ferrari 2026 Monza livery honours Michael Schumacher with seven stars
One of the most significant details can be found on the nose of the SF-26, where seven stars stand out as a symbol of Michael Schumacher’s seven Formula 1 world championships. Five of those titles were won with Ferrari during the historic run from 2000 to 2004.
The same seven-star motif will also appear on the race suits worn by Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton at Monza. Lewis Hamilton shares Formula 1’s record of seven Drivers’ World Championship titles with Michael Schumacher, adding another connection to Ferrari’s tribute for its home Grand Prix.
Gold wheels complete Ferrari’s 1996-inspired Monza design
The SF-26 cars will be almost entirely red, while Ferrari has also brought back gold-coloured wheel rims reminiscent of the cars raced by Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine. The combination gives the 2026 design a clear visual connection to the beginning of Schumacher’s era with Ferrari.
The tribute comes exactly 30 years after Michael Schumacher’s first Ferrari season. His arrival at Maranello in 1996 marked the start of a partnership that would eventually produce one of the most successful periods in Formula 1 history, although his first campaign in red already delivered three Grand Prix victories.
Monza held particular significance during that debut Ferrari season, as Michael Schumacher gave the Italian supporters a home victory at the circuit. Three decades later, Ferrari will return to the Temple of Speed with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc carrying visual references to that chapter of the team’s history on both their cars and race suits.
The tribute livery will make its competitive debut during the 2026 Italian Grand Prix weekend at Monza, where Ferrari will once again race in front of its home supporters.
