Ferrari will honour Michael Schumacher at Monza by giving its 2026 Italian Grand Prix weekend a distinctive tribute theme, with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc wearing dedicated race suits alongside a special car livery. The commemoration marks 30 years since the German claimed a memorable victory at the Italian circuit during his first season with Ferrari in 1996.
Monza is known as the Temple of Speed, but its deep connection with Ferrari also makes it a magical place for the Italian team. It is almost a second home, where the Prancing Horse has written some of the most iconic pages in its history. Ferrari will once again arrive in Brianza with a commemorative design, continuing a tradition established over recent seasons of using the Italian Grand Prix to celebrate its identity and the moments that made the team great.
Ferrari’s Michael Schumacher tribute at Monza recalls 1996
After the Modena Yellow theme and last season’s tribute to Niki Lauda, Ferrari has chosen to dedicate its 2026 Monza design to the driver who defined an entire era of the team: Michael Schumacher.
The tribute coincides with the 20th anniversary of Michael Schumacher’s final victory, but above all with 30 years since his first season in red. That 1996 campaign included an unforgettable September Sunday when he triumphed at Monza during his debut year with Ferrari.

The entire visual identity of Ferrari’s Italian Grand Prix weekend has been built around that anniversary. The special Ferrari livery for Monza draws inspiration from the team’s 1996 colours, reinterpreted with a modern approach.
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc suits feature Schumacher’s seven stars
The same theme extends to the race suits that will be worn by Lewis Hamilton, the only driver to have matched Michael Schumacher’s seven Formula 1 world titles, and Charles Leclerc.

Compared with Ferrari’s traditional race suits, the special Monza versions give much more prominence to red. White has been reduced to thin stripes running along the sides and across the shoulders.
The front of each suit features a different font for the drivers’ numbers, together with Michael Schumacher’s personal logo. On the back, the seven stars associated with the German champion’s helmet stand out as one of the most distinctive elements of the design.

Ferrari honours a defining chapter in its history
This initial tribute has been conceived not only to remember Michael Schumacher as a driver, but also to celebrate everything he represented for Ferrari. His years with the Prancing Horse remain one of the most remarkable chapters in Ferrari History, with a capital H.
