Scuderia Ferrari intends to remove the brand of its main sponsor to avoid trouble in Australia but this means that the Italian side has to review all the graphics of the single-seater, suits, helmets, panels and personnel uniforms. However, for Melboure the team will return to using the 2018 clothing.
The indiscretion came when the FIA issued the most recent list of members for the 2019 Formula One Championship. The table which was published by the International Federation showed the name of the company, or Scuderia Ferrari in the case of the Italian side, and that of the team, which usually includes the name of a possible title-sponsor. In Ferrari’s current situation, the name, as confirmed at the presentation of the SF90, was Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow, which appeared on all the spaces of the car that have been occupied by Philip Morris since the end of 2018.
However, yesterday came the official confirmation that the some of the problems related to an alleged link of the name to a tobacco producer have not yet been completely overcome, and hence the decision to remove at the moment all the references to Mission Winnow, that may lead to disputes. But at the same time this means the Scuderia will have to review all the graphics of its single-seater, suits, helmets, panels, and uniforms. The latter, which are used by all the staff of the Maranello team, will be temporarily replaced in Melbourne with the ones used at the beginning of the 2018 Formula 1 season.
