The Texas race will be the fourth Sprint weekend of the season, with a total of 58 points available across qualifying, the Sprint, and the main race. For Scuderia Ferrari, this weekend is crucial for attempting a comeback after a series of difficult races.
With the Sprint format, the time available to find the ideal setup is extremely limited. Teams have only one hour of free practice before heading straight into the Friday afternoon Sprint Qualifying, followed by Saturday’s Sprint race and the main Grand Prix on Sunday.
This makes simulator preparation and factory work essential, ensuring the team arrives ready from the very first laps on track. Tire management and strategic planning will be decisive elements to maximize performance and achieve the best possible result.
Vasseur and Ferrari ready for Austin: “Precision and determination are key”
Fred Vasseur, Ferrari’s team principal, emphasized the importance of the entire team staying fully focused during such an intense weekend. “After two city circuits, with COTA we return to a permanent track that offers a very interesting mix of corners. It’s a circuit that demands precision from everyone: from the team in terms of setup, and from the drivers in terms of their feeling with the car.”
“The weekend will be even more challenging due to the Sprint format, which gives us only a single free practice session before immediately entering competitive sessions. We know we haven’t fully exploited the potential of our package in recent races, but the team is united and fully determined to change course.”
Ferrari arrives in Austin aiming to return to the podium after a series of difficult races and to regain consistency in results. COTA represents an important test to verify the progress achieved with the latest upgrades and to prepare for the final championship push.
The Texan heat, the Sprint format, and the balance between performance and reliability will make the United States Grand Prix one of the most intense moments of the season for Ferrari, which will aim to transform teamwork into concrete results on the track.
