Scuderia Ferrari German driver Sebastian Vettel will have the chance to take part in next week’s Pirelli 2020 tyre test, which is being held between the Russian and Japanese Grands Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya. Adding the extra test was a difficult task but was done in order to help Pirelli develop their tyre compounds for the 2020 Formula One season.
Ahead of the 2019 Russian Grand Prix, Scuderia Ferrari sporting director Laurent Mekies took part in Friday’s press conference and confirmed that Sebastian Vettel will drive for the Maranello team at the additional Pirelli test which is scheduled to take place in Barcelona, in October, before the race in Japan.
The Scuderia Ferrari German driver will complete the Pirelli tyre testing session and then fly straight away to Suzuka.
Esteban Ocon will take part in the Pirelli 2020 tyre test for Mercedes, while Red Bull’s chief engineer Paul Monaghan confirmed that Jake Dennis will driver for the Austrian team in Barcelona.
