2011: Fernando Alonso wins the British Grand Prix
Fernando Alonso won at Silverstone on 10 July 2011, with Felipe Massa finishing fifth. The result became Ferrari’s only Grand Prix victory of that season.
The win came during the year marking the 60th anniversary of Ferrari’s first World Championship victory, also achieved at Silverstone. The original 1951 race took place on 14 July, so the two victories share a venue and anniversary year rather than an exact calendar date.
2022: Charles Leclerc overcomes a late problem in Austria
Charles Leclerc won the Austrian Grand Prix after managing a throttle problem during the closing laps. The victory was his third of the 2022 season, following successes in Bahrain and Australia.
Carlos Sainz retired with an engine failure, preventing Ferrari from converting its race pace into a double podium. The final result combined victory for Charles Leclerc with a significant setback for the other car.
Earlier British Grand Prix podiums
Jean Alesi finished second at Silverstone on 10 July 1994. John Surtees had also reached the podium on this date, taking third in the 1965 British Grand Prix.
