Oliver Bearman secures his third win of the season with a commanding performance in the Sprint Race at the Qatar GP, delivering results that could prove significant for the championship standings. Hadjar’s soft tire strategy did not pay off, as he also spun after being overtaken by the Ferrari junior. Martins, despite a strong start, struggled as the race progressed, while a consistent Gabriel Bortoleto remains the championship leader. Dino Beganovic faced a challenging debut, and Kimi Antonelli retired following a collision with Maini.
What unfolded during the F2 Sprint Race in Qatar?
Hadjar dominated much of the race, appearing poised to gain a crucial three points in the championship. However, a dramatic turn of events in the closing stages completely changed the outcome. Bearman launched an attack at Turn 1, executing a decisive overtake on Hadjar to claim the lead. Later in the same lap, the French-Algerian Red Bull driver tried to regain ground but oversteered, spinning out and losing valuable points in the title fight.
This mistake allowed Crawford and Verschoor to secure second and third positions late in the race. The event concluded under the safety car. Meanwhile, Hadjar’s championship rival Bortoleto, set to join Sauber in Formula 1, crossed the line in sixth place.
