Ferrari F1 driver Carlos Sainz opens up about beloved role model: a heartfelt tribute. A heartfelt tribute.

Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz took to Instagram to announce the sad news of his grandfather, Antonio, passing on Monday. In a touching tribute, the Maranello team’s driver shared a heartfelt message, reflecting on his grandfather’s life and expressing gratitude for the role models we have in our lives as humans.

Carlos Sainz said: “He has been our guide and support through thick and thin. A great example for all those around him. Enjoy and cherish every moment with your elders. It is a gift that won’t last forever and they truly deserve our love and respect.”

Underneath the post, Scuderia Ferrari expressed their heartfelt sympathies, stating: “Our deepest condolences to you and your family, Carlos.”

As Carlos Sainz takes to the track at this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest, it is evident that he will carry the memory of his late grandfather in his heart, striving to secure both his and Ferrari’s first Formula 1 victory in over a year.

“For my family, the past few days have been rather sad, because we lost my grandfather. I’d like to be able to dedicate a podium finish in Hungary to him and so I’ll be racing with even more motivation to do well.” – the Ferrari man said during Thursday media day at the Hungaroring circuit.
