Ferrari did not bring any important visible updates for the 2022 Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix this weekend, but a couple of details attracted the attention of Motorsport Italy’s Giorgio Piola’s witty eye. The floor that was fitted on the F1-75 car seen in Canada on Thursday is identical to that used last week seen in Baku, but different from the one the Scuderia used in Barcelona when the long-awaited new aerodynamic package was introduced.
The design of the area in front of the rear wheel is perfectly the same, but what has changed is the type of carbon used and the different arrangement of the fibers, a sign that work has been done to modify the stiffness of the floor as a function of a reducing porpoising.
For the Spanish Grand Prix, in fact, the carbon fibers that are mono-directional were oriented longitudinally to the car, while in Montreal they became perpendicular with a rotation of 90 degrees.

The shot also shows us the pull rod pattern rear suspension link: the arm, for once, lacks the composite material cover that goes around the metal core and highlights the height adjustment: the mechanics of the Maranello team have the opportunity to intervene on the distance of the ground from the asphalt rather quickly even during free practice sessions, when looking for the best configuration so that the drivers do not have to suffer too much from bouncing on the straight.
