The last sip together
While awaiting the presentations of the upcoming cars that will participate in the 2024 championship, Ferrari has announced news that will impact the list of Team Partners for the Maranello Scuderia. As officially announced on its social media pages, the ‘Rossa’ has concluded its collaboration with the non-alcoholic beer brand Estrella Galicia 0.0, which will no longer be a sponsor of the team starting from the next season.
Successes with Carlos Sainz and more
The relationship between the two entities began in 2021, the year Carlos Sainz joined Ferrari. In addition to becoming a new partner of the ‘Cavallino Rampante,’ Estrella Galicia had pledged its support to #55 (who had made his Formula 1 debut with the brand on his helmet), celebrating his first two and, so far, only victories in the top series. After a 2021 Formula One season without satisfactions for both him and Charles Leclerc, the Spaniard secured victory in the British Grand Prix the following season, with three wins also marked by his Monegasque teammate, who then became the vice-world champion. In a 2023 championship dominated by Red Bull and Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz emerged as the only non-Red Bull driver capable of standing on the highest step of the podium, doing so in the Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Street Circuit and thus averting the possibility of 22 races all won by the Milton Keynes team.
Possible negotiations
“Three seasons of memories, and a great partnership. Thank you very much.” With this message, Ferrari has bid farewell to Estrella Galicia, whose future could still remain in Formula 1 in the coming years. While the Scuderia has not announced agreements with other brands, the latest rumors indicate ongoing negotiations between the brewery and Aston Martin, which fields Fernando Alonso in its lineup. However, a conflict of interest could arise with the Silverstone-based team, currently in collaboration with Peroni and featuring another non-alcoholic beer sponsor, Nastro Azzurro 0.0%.
