Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz feels Red Bull’s dominance in the start of the 2023 Formula 1 championship is “nothing new” for the sport following claims that the Austrian side could in fact secure victory in all the races of the current F1 campaign.
Despite the fact that Ferrari stopped the development of the F1-75 car early on in the previous season to focus on fixing its key issues in view of the following season, when the Maranello team was expected to come back stronger and challenge the Austrian side for the titles, Red Bull have started the 2023 Formula 1 championship in a completely dominant manner, by taking back-to-back one-two finishes at the Bahrain International Circuit and in Saudi Arabia, as the RB19 car was a second per lap faster than the SF-23 and the rest of the chasing front-runners at the Jeddah Corniche circuit.
Mercedes driver George Russell warned after the first round of the season that Red Bull would go on to take in race win in all the rounds of the 2023 Formula One championship, as both his Mercedes W14 and Carlos Sainz’s Ferrari SF-23 challenger struggling to keep up with the Milton Keynes squad.
And the Spaniard feels Red Bull’s impressive dominance in the start of the season is not out of the ordinary for Formula 1 Grand Prix racing.
Carlos Sainz explains Red Bull dominance
“This just confirms we need to improve as the Red Bull is really, really dominant now,” he replied when asked by the media about Red Bull’s superior pace in Saudi Arabia, where Carlos Sainz had to settle for sixth place, ahead of his Maranello teammate Charles Leclerc, as Ferrari was not even able to fight Aston Martin and Mercedes in Jeddah:

“I’ve never been a fan of being concerned of one team dominating because if they’ve done such a good job, they deserve it. I mean I wish it was us, and then I would get really angry people telling us that we’re walking over Formula 1. Unfortunately, this is a cars sport more than the drivers, we know that makes more of a difference. Red Bull has a very strong line-up and what we know is that if a car is really food, all the other drivers cannot do much to stay in the fight. It is the nature of Formula 1 and we’ve seen it in the past, it is nothing new.” – Scuderia Ferrari Spanish driver Carlos Sainz feels pointed out.
