Scuderia Ferrari is already planning ahead and thinking about the next generation of racing talent. As questions remain surrounding the long-term future of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton with the Maranello-based team, the Italian outfit has already taken its first step toward shaping the team of tomorrow. Ferrari has officially announced the arrival of two promising young drivers who will join the Ferrari Driver Academy in the coming months, and both will be closely monitored and developed under the direct supervision of the team’s technical staff.
Here are the two new young talents joining Ferrari
The announcement was made directly by Scuderia Ferrari through an official press release, in which the two drivers selected for the prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy were introduced. The names are Alba Larsen, a 17-year-old Danish racing driver, and Niccolò Maccagnani, a 15-year-old Italian talent.
Alba Larsen is not an unfamiliar name to the Ferrari Driver Academy. In fact, she was the winner of the fourth edition of the ‘Girls on Track – Rising Star’ program in 2023, a project organized in collaboration with the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission. Throughout 2024, the Ferrari Driver Academy kept a close eye on her progress, inviting her several times to Maranello to train and test with their engineers.
Last year, Larsen made her debut in single-seater racing by competing in the F4 Indian Series. In the current 2025 season, she is participating in the F1 Academy, the all-female racing series supported by Formula 1. So far, she has impressed with her consistent performance and is currently ranked sixth in the championship standings. Her strong start to the season convinced the Ferrari Driver Academy’s technical team to officially welcome her into the program as a full member.
On the other hand, Niccolò Maccagnani has shown significant promise in both karting and in single-seater test sessions conducted in private settings. During the 21st edition of the ACI Sport Supercorso, the young Roman driver caught the attention of the Ferrari engineers with his exceptional speed, raw talent, and high potential for development. Most recently, Maccagnani stood out by setting the fastest lap time during a Formula 4 test held at the Vallelunga circuit, further reinforcing his status as one of Italy’s most exciting young motorsport prospects.
Both drivers are set to officially join the Ferrari Driver Academy on January 1, 2026. From that point on, they will begin a structured development journey aimed at preparing them for potential careers in the highest levels of single-seater racing, possibly even with Ferrari’s Formula 1 team in the future.
The inclusion of these two new talents demonstrates Ferrari’s continued commitment to nurturing young drivers and investing in the long-term future of the team, ensuring that the next generation is ready to carry forward the legacy of the Prancing Horse on the international motorsport stage.
