Ferrari denies attempting to steal Red Bull limelight with 2023 F1 engine fire up. Ferrari denies attempting to steal Red Bull limelight.

Ferrari’s expectations are growing for the 2023 single-seater which will be presented in Maranello on 14 February at 11.25 am. The first 2023 Ferrari car has already been assembled in the Vehicle Assembly area where the fire-up of the power unit mounted on the 675 took place on Friday morning.

We still have to use the project acronym, because Ferrari remains the only Formula 1 team that does not yet officially confirmed its name, although it has already been chosen. Since there will be no particular celebratory dates for Ferrari, (the F1-75 commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Ferrari foundation), it is very likely, as Motorsport Italy reported yesterday, that the Maranello team will return to naming its car in a more traditional way. The sixty-ninth red of F1, if there are no last-minute changes, should be called SF23.

It seemed to some that Ferrari wanted to “counter-programme” the… Sanremo Festival, going on stage with the first start-up just as in New York, with great hype, Red Bull formalized the partnership with Ford.

A marketing war action which, however, was denied by Maranello: the fire-up of the 066/7 which took place at 11 and it seems that it was supposed to be launched on social networks by around 2 pm, therefore before the fake, indeed fake, RB19 was officially presented, but a delay in delivering the audio file resulted in an avoidable event overlap.

The sound of the 6-cylinder turbo in the Ferrari Racing Division at a certain moment certainly took away some visibility from the presentation of Red Bull, already giving meaning to what promises to be a very competitive sporting season, as Benedetto Vigna, CEO of Ferrari, has confirmed the championship ambitions of the team principal, Fred Vasseur.

In his first outing with the media, the French manager didn’t hesitate to talk about the team that has to fight for the two world titles, Drivers and Constructors, and the Ferrari CEO added to the expectations by talking about reaching the… final prize.

Ferrari would not have planned an “institutional rudeness” between the teams, but the provocation certainly did not go unnoticed. Will there be a response from Milton Keynes on Valentine’s Day?

The applause that followed the fire-up of the 2023 Ferrari F1 car was more than auspicious, propitiatory. Ferrari’s fate will greatly depend on the improved reliability of the power unit after the updates and changes made by Enrico Gualtieri’s technicians to extend its life.

The 2023 season promises to be very exciting.

Let’s be honest… a man re-painting a white wall white would have been more of a draw than RBs fake launch
