Scuderia Ferrari have officially confirmed that they will present their 2022 Formula 1 car on 17 February, just a few days until the first pre-season testing session takes place at the CIrcuit de Catalunya.

The Maranello team is the second to confirm a car launch date, after Aston Martin, which will reveal their new car a week earlier on 10 February.

Formula 1 is ready to head into a new era with overhauled technical regulations, with the goal of making the sport more equitable and sustainable while also improving the on track racing and shifting the focus from the performance of the car to that of the driver.

Scuderia Ferrari feel confident ahead of the 2022 Formula One season, after a much-improved 2021 championship, having risen from sixth to third in the standings. This was despite switching their focus to 2022 early on, making use of more wind tunnel hours than their rivals.

Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc is starting his fourth season alongside the Maranello team, while Carlos Sainz stays on for his second, having impressed en route to fifth in last year’s standings, two places ahead of his teammate and will most likely sign a contract extension with Ferrari.

The first Formula 1 pre-season test will take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from 23-25 February.
