The final eight hours of the year will decide an entire season. For Ferrari, the last round of the WEC World Championship, the 8 Hours of Bahrain, will be crucial for the outcome of the championship, and mistakes will not be allowed. The Hypercar team of the Prancing Horse is preparing for the grand finale of the 2025 endurance world championship, with two world titles within reach: the Drivers’ Championship, with car number 51 driven by James Calado, Antonio Giovinazzi and Alessandro Pier Guidi, and the Constructors’ title, where the Italian team holds a 39-point lead over Porsche. It’s a solid position that puts the team led by Antonello Coletta and Ferdinando Cannizzo as favourites, but the titles are far from guaranteed, with the decisive race set for November 8 in Sakhir.
Ready for the finale
During the 2025 Ferrari World Finals, held last weekend at the Mugello Circuit, James Calado, driver of the number 51 Ferrari 499P, explained how he and the team are preparing for such an important event. Ferrari’s approach and race preparation will remain the same, as both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships will require them to maximise the points haul rather than race defensively. This mindset, ahead of the finale, is the right one — it allows the team and the trio of drivers leading the championship to compete without added pressure, despite the new goals compared to previous seasons. If necessary, the entire team is ready to work together to help not only Ferrari win the Constructors’ title but also support car number 51 in their bid for the Drivers’ crown.
Calado speaks
“After three consecutive wins at Le Mans, we now have other goals since we’re leading the standings before the final race. We want to win, to perform well. Compared to last year, many things have changed. We must do everything to stay ahead, but also keep calm. You never know how things will go until you’re on track. Certainly, our car suits Bahrain better than other circuits. The goal, clearly, is for Ferrari to win the Constructors’ Championship. We also have a chance to win the Drivers’ title, but everything will depend on how the race unfolds.”
