Ferrari, Benedetto Vigna’s confidence
Scuderia Ferrari did not meet the expectations of fans and executives in this 2023 Formula 1 championship, but Benedetto Vigna has confidence in the work done at Maranello by Frederic Vasseur and his team, interpreting them as signs of improvement in some of the recent races.
The chief executive officer of Ferrari emphasized that at the beginning of the 2023 Formula 1 campaign, everyone expected more from the SF-23. He himself, during the presentation, had described the 2023 challenger as a car with unprecedented speed. However, reality was a harsh judge for the Maranello team, and in reality, the car was far behind the impressive RB19 put on the track by Red Bull.
Benedetto Vigna’s comments
With a view to the fight for second place in the 2023 Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship and especially for future seasons, Benedetto Vigna remains hopeful: “We started the championship with a level of competitiveness below our expectations, but in some recent races, like last weekend’s in Spa-Francorchamps, we have seen some signs of improvement. Clearly, we want to continue improving, and we are working day and night to make our car more competitive,” these were the words of the executive in a call about the semi-annual results with financial analysts.
“In motorsport, Ferrari is engaged in Formula 1, Endurance, competitions like Le Mans, and customer races. These are the areas we are focused on and want to remain focused on in the future: racing is our heritage and, more than ever, a stimulus for further innovation,” he – added – “It is the will to progress that we must always keep alive; it is the legacy of our founder that we must constantly cultivate with confident humility.” – Ferrari chief executive officer Benedetto Vigna concluded.
