During the official Ferrari Christmas dinner at the “Style Center”, Scuderia Ferrari’s team principal Mattia Binotto and Ferrari’s CEO Louis Camilleri have addressed with some statements a number of questions concerning the future of Ferrari.
All the statements are extrapolated from the Italian news article down below, and even if semi-informal are pretty much considered official since it was kind of a press focused event.
CAMILLERI STATED THAT MAX VERSTAPPEN WILL NEVER DRIVE FOR FERRARI. Being asked if Max will ever get a chance he replied with a firm “No”. This pretty much has to do with him accusing the Scuderia of cheating. The consequences of this statement going public is that Max Verstappen will have much less bargaining power once he’ll try to get at the table with Mercedes-AMG Petronas for a seat.
ALONSO WON’T DRIVE IN RED. Binotto said that there have been talks, but it won’t happen
Mattia Binotto stated that in 2020 Charles LECLERC and Sebastian VETTEL will be TREATED AS EQUAL. BUT whoever has the most points after three quarters of the races in 2020 will be officially considered the NUMBER ONE DRIVER.
TEAM DYNAMICS FOR THE FUTURE: Binotto also said that Leclerc is considered anyways Ferrari’s long term future star driver, so anyone that comes alongside him as his teammate in 2021 will need to adapt himself to that situation. He said that for 2021 they are looking for a mature driver rather than a youngster.
ANTONIO GIOVINAZZI is a “FERRARI LOAN DRIVER” but he will need to do better in 2020 if he wants to keep that status.
The FERRARI DRIVER ACADEMY will also have FEMALE DRIVERS in the near future.
They stated about the CONCORD AGREEMENT that “Ferrari looks only at its interests”
They were obviously trying to push the image of a new Ferrari, more strong and corporate.
