Lewis Hamilton does not hide his disappointment over his first season with Ferrari, marked by struggles and results far from expectations. After retiring from the São Paulo Grand Prix, the seven-time world champion spoke candidly about the challenging period he is going through: “It’s a nightmare, and I’ve been living it for a while. I dreamed of racing for Ferrari, but turning that dream into concrete results has been anything but easy.”
John Elkann’s outburst and Lewis Hamilton’s words
“They should focus on driving and speak less. We still have a few races left, and finishing second is not impossible,” remarked Ferrari president John Elkann. Interlagos proved to be yet another Sunday to forget for both Ferrari cars. For Lewis Hamilton, it was pure suffering: contacts, penalties, and car damage forced him to retire, ending an already difficult weekend prematurely. Despite winning the Sprint Race at the Chinese Grand Prix in March, Lewis Hamilton has yet to reach the podium with the Scuderia di Maranello. He currently sits sixth in the championship standings, far from the top positions he was accustomed to during his time at Mercedes.
“It would be wrong to say there are no positives. Charles [Leclerc] showed in qualifying that the car has potential. We are going through a complicated period, but I believe every challenge hides an opportunity. I am convinced that something great lies ahead for us,” Lewis Hamilton added at the end of the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend in Sao Paulo. His words carry hope for a much brighter future in red, signaling his determination to overcome the current difficulties.
