The presentation of Scuderia Ferrari’s 2022 Formula 1 car, known as project 674, will be seen in the streaming on February 17 and, according to Motorsport Italy, the new challenger will have an airbox different from that of the SF21 car.
According to the rumors from Maranello, the ground effect red car will again have a dynamic triangular shape, without the two small “ears” that were seen on last year’s car, and also without the two vertical bulkheads which are no longer granted by the new standards.
If this information is confirmed, it is easy to foresee a return to a solution that was already seen two years ago on the SF1000 (hopefully it will work better) with a more evident edge in the upper part, while the air intake will remain behind the two supports of the airscope.

The feeling is that the arrangement of the radiators for cooling the power unit could be different compared to last year: the changes are dictated by the presence of the two Venturi tunnels that will be located in the lower part of the sides, forcing the Maranello team’s engineers to place the radiant masses so different from what we were used to seeing recently.
Scuderia Ferrari seems to have wanted to clean up the flows at the top of the engine hood to improve the efficiency of the new rear wing. In Giorgio Piola’s drawing, Motorsport.com also shows us what should be the red shade of the livery, certainly darker than that of the SF21.
