Ferrari admits ‘it will take long time to solve SF1000 technical concept problems’. Mattia Binotto says Ferrari needs time to solve all problems.

After the start of the 2020 Formula One season, it has become obvious for everybody that this year will not go as planned for Scuderia Ferrari and according to Team Pricipal Mattia Binotto it will also take some time before the Maranello team can solve all the current issues.

While the Italian side’s car was the fastest car on the track for a time during the 2019 season, the Maranello team has had difficulties in reaching Q3 this season so it certainly doesn’t run as the team had hoped in advance, despite the already low expectations after the winter testing sessions at the Circuit de Catalunya.

With the current backlog that the team has and compared to the top teams, Ferrari will not be back at the front soon:

“It will take a long time. The problems with the technical concept of the SF1000 can’t be solved within a few weeks” – Mattia Binotto explains, as reported by Motorsport-Total.com this week – “We must be patient. I’ve said before that we’re behind in every area. And if you have to improve in every area, you can’t do that with a simple trick or one update. It’s gonna take time. How long? I can’t answer that yet” – the Ferrari boss added.

According to Mattia Binotto, the Maranello team had expected some problems before the season, but the current results are even below what had been anticipated: “I think we always saw during the winter test in Barcelona that we’re not fast enough. But we didn’t expect such a difficult situation. It’s worse than we expected, there’s nothing more to say about it” – Scuderia Ferrari Team Pricipal Mattia Binotto concluded.
