As winter is always the season of speculations in Formula 1, the first rumours about the Ferrari F1 2024 livery are starting to emerge: will white beat black?
Ferrari 2024 livery, is white making a comeback in F1? Winter has arrived, and, contrary to what happens in nature, the sport begins to wake up. In just over a month, we will discover the single-seaters that will compete on the track in the upcoming Formula One season. In this atmosphere of anticipation and curiosity, some have suggested hypotheses about the new liveries of Formula 1.
It’s almost banal to emphasize, the first look at the new liveries of the cars represents one of the most exciting moments of winter. While the more technical fans are ready to scrutinize every mechanical detail of the new Formula 1 single-seaters, the dreamy eyes of all of us will first focus on their colors.
The joke we repeat every year is now a mantra: Ferrari will be red. We are certainly not here to deny this foundational dogma of the Ferrari religion. What could change, however, is the secondary color of the next Prancing Horse single-seater.
Black dominated the grid in the 2023 Formula One championship. Almost all teams, including Ferrari, opted for more or less extensive black body surfaces. The bare material offered the possibility of shedding some weight. A clear example was Mercedes, which raced with a completely black car after returning to silver in 2022.

For Ferrari, white could be the color of choice in the 2024 Formula One season. After appearing in Las Vegas on the beautiful livery inspired by the 1970s F1, a confirmation can be expected. In 2021, Maranello already listened to the fans’ requests, leaving some strokes of that dark red that had characterized the celebrations for the 1000th GP. Considering the success of the special Las Vegas livery, it’s reasonable to expect at least a “tribute.”
The last Ferrari to have white details was the SF71H in 2018. On that car, Sebastian Vettel secured five victories in the battle against Lewis Hamilton. Before 2022, it was the last Ferrari to have a chance at the title, at least for a substantial portion of the season.
Will it be a good omen for the upcoming Championship? We just have to wait a few more weeks to find out.
