Formula 1 enthusiasts will have to wait another month, or so, before finally being able to get a concrete taste of what the 2023 F1 season will be like. The first GP of the year will be in Bahrain on the weekend of March 3-4-5 but exactly one week before, from 23 to 25 February, the three days of pre-season testing will also take place on the Sakhir track.
That will be the first real moment that will reveal interesting clues about the new single-seaters designed by the factories of various teams. Obviously among the teams observed with the most attention is Scuderia Ferrari, especially after the change of team principal and from a 2022 championship that began with enormous expectations of glory and ended with a sense of bitterness that is far superior to the actual balance at the end of the season: second place in the Drivers’ standings with Charles Leclerc and second place in the Constructors’, for the first time since 2019.
Inevitably in these last few weeks of winter break there are many rumors that emerge from the headquarters of different teams and regarding the Maranello side the news recently reported rumors appears rather interesting. In fact, it is believed that there are actual gains in terms of performance, at least potential, and that Charles Leclerc’s driving style in particular could benefit from some technical adjustments designed for what will be the successor of the F1-75. This is also confirmed by the analysis made in today’s edition of the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport by Mario Salvini, who also underlined how the new team principal, Frederic Vasseur, has immediately started to study the work done for the 675 project.
“[…]. The new Ferrari, codenamed 675, seems to make the engineers smile. […] the simulator has its truths, […], it has them all right. During the last few days Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have alternated their work in Maranello, as well as Robert Shwartzman and, to a more limited extent, the two Antonios, Giovinazzi and Fuoco […]. […] the 675 seems to be keeping its promises to improve the performance of the F1-75. The power of the engine, limited in 2022 due to fears related to reliability, has increased. There is talk of about thirty more horsepower […]. Which translate into much better lap times […]. Rumors not commented or confirmed in Maranello. […] would be […] a big step forward, taking into account that the regulation changes relating to the floor should slow down the single-seaters.
