F1 | Where will Madrid GP take place? Circuit layout has already been revealed. The layout of the new Madrid circuit has been revealed.

After the announcement of a possible relocation of the Spanish Grand Prix from Barcelona to Madrid, the layout of the new circuit has also surfaced. The Spanish capital will thus host a Formula 1 race after forty years. However, it will not be the old Jarama circuit hosting the event: drivers will compete on a new circuit between Ifema and Valdebebas, right near the capital.

This hypothesis had been discussed for a while, but only now have the main details been defined. Formula 1 and Liberty Media have initiated this ambitious project and decided to propose it as an addition to the F1 calendar from 2026.

The first event will be organized by private entities to avoid the problems that arose years ago in Valencia for the MotoGP race. In that case, public capital was used illegally, leading to a corruption scandal and subsequent debts that Spain wants to completely avoid.

The organization would have already signed a contract that will bind the circuit to Formula 1 for at least 10 years. As for the track, everything is still under construction. Nevertheless, the layout seems to have been defined for quite some time.

The circuit will be urban and will wind its way through the pavilions of the district where the main fairs of Madrid take place, then run parallel to the City of Sport where Real Madrid is based. The total length should be around 5 km.

After the publication of the layout, there have been controversies over a detail of the circuit that left Formula 1 fans somewhat perplexed. If you look closely at the layout, you can indeed see a roundabout that has raised some suspicions.

With the addition of the Madrid Grand Prix, the Catalonia Grand Prix should be removed from the world calendar. According to the latest rumors, the possibility of two races on Spanish soil has been denied to prevent organizational issues. By doing so, Madrid will represent Spain in the Formula 1 World Championship.
