Scuderia Ferrari continued to test its new F1-75 car in Bahrain by keeping the same configuration seen in Barcelona at the Circuit de Catalunya last month, while rivals Mercedes brought the W13 mini-look to Sakhir which sparked so much discussion in the paddock for its extreme sidepod design. Today, Red Bull used a new aerodynamic package featuring sides equipped with a new slide and a modified floor to make the RB18 less sensitive to porpoising.
During the three-day testing session in Bahrain, the Maranello team worked a lot on the floor area: they proposed three different solutions, before going in the direction followed by McLaren which gave the best results on the track with the goal of reducing the porpoising effect on the straights. Mercedes today seems to have found the way to fine-tune the W13 with Lewis Hamilton who concluded a positive long run with two of the compounds that will be used for the Bahrain Grand Prix next weekend, but Scuderia Ferrari has by no means remained idle.

The Racing Department technicians worked on less visible aspects of the F1-75 car: on the third day of testing, the Italian side modified the central part of the diffuser which now looks slimmer.
The image of Giorgio Piola shows us, in fact, how the “keel” of the floor has been modified: the carbon patches indicate that these are changes which have been made in the pits, following the indications that have come from the fruitful work on the track.
