Formula 1’s 2026 Singapore Grand Prix begins with FP1 at Marina Bay, the first and only free practice session of the entire weekend. The session starts at 10:30 CEST and finishes at 11:30, giving Ferrari and its rivals just one hour of track running before the competitive Sprint sessions begin.
F1 Singapore GP FP1 live from Marina Bay
Good morning and welcome back, dear ScuderiaFans.com readers. We are live to bring you FP1 from the 2026 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix weekend, with the session running from 10:30 to 11:30 Italian time.
This opening hour will be particularly important because Marina Bay hosts the final Sprint-format weekend of the season. The format provides only one free practice session before two qualifying sessions and two races, making the initial preparation especially important. The wider structure of the weekend can be followed through the 2026 Formula 1 calendar and schedule.
The compressed format will put immediate pressure on every team to understand the circuit and establish a competitive baseline. Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has already highlighted how important it will be to maximise the only Singapore practice session before the weekend moves straight into competitive running.
Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari under the spotlight in FP1
Particular attention will be on Mercedes after a disappointing weekend in Malaysia despite bringing a substantial upgrade package. The team could use the session to compare the updated W17 with its previous specification.
Red Bull, meanwhile, arrives after Max Verstappen’s spectacular victory at Sepang and will be hoping to repeat that success in Singapore. Ferrari will also be closely watched as the Scuderia attempts to move on from the controversy surrounding the incorrect tyre choice at the start of the previous race.
McLaren also arrives looking for answers after disappointing results over the previous two weekends. With only 60 minutes available before the Sprint format takes over, the opening session will provide the first indications of how the leading teams compare at Marina Bay.
Ferrari’s latest upgrades, set-up direction and performance trends can also be followed through the ScuderiaFans Ferrari technical analysis section.
