It is now official: Ferrari has ended its drought by winning the world championship title, at least in the realm of video games. The Scuderia has clinched its second “F1 eSports” constructors’ championship in history.
F1 eSports: Ferrari’s History and Successes
This category is none other than the most prestigious competition in the premier class of the gaming world, where drivers compete on equal footing. Launched in 2017, it has involved all Formula 1 teams since the following year, resulting in very exciting races.
The Scuderia had already won the third edition of the championship in 2019, securing both the constructors’ and drivers’ titles (with David Tonizza). After a three-year dry spell, Ferrari has returned to success, thanks to the excellent performances of Bari Broumand and Nicolas Longuet.
For now, fans of the Scuderia will have to be content with a virtual World Championship. How long will they have to wait to celebrate real-life successes again? No one can answer that question.
