Important news from Maranello for both Formula 1 and the WEC: Ferrari has renewed and expanded its technical partnership with Brembo.
After the recent announcement with BBS, Ferrari returns to the spotlight with Brembo. The technical partnership has been renewed and broadened, now extending to the Hypercar program in the WEC in addition to Formula 1. The collaboration between the Prancing Horse and the Lombardy-based company is now a historic bond, linking two motorsport leaders. Over fifty years together, and now extending into the Endurance World Championship following the success of the 499P.
Ferrari and Brembo: a historic partnership looking to the future
Ferrari and Brembo continue a journey rooted in motorsport history while firmly looking to the future. Maranello has officially announced the renewal and expansion of its longstanding partnership with the Bergamo-based company, a global leader in the development of high-performance braking systems. This collaboration, spanning more than fifty years, will be further strengthened starting with the 2026 season.
Brembo will continue as Technical Partner of the Prancing Horse in Formula 1, but the partnership now goes beyond the F1 program. The agreement also covers the Ferrari Hypercar project, which has achieved great success in the WEC. This collaboration will therefore accompany the sporting journey of the 499P, the car symbolizing Maranello’s return to the top class of Endurance racing.
Not just Brembo: the BBS agreement
The announcement of the Brembo renewal comes just days after another important official statement from Maranello. In 2026, Formula 1 introduces the option for teams to choose their technical partner for wheel supply. With BBS Japan, Ferrari is opting for an exclusive package, different from its direct rivals in the championship, designed to maximize the performance of the SF-26.
The agreement with the Japanese company includes the supply of magnesium wheels produced in Takaoka, Japan. This, too, represents a historic relationship, dating back to 1992 and tracing the great successes of Michael Schumacher and his successors up until 2011.
The dual announcements of renewed partnerships with Brembo and BBS Japan signal a clear strategic shift by Ferrari to leverage long-standing technical heritage as they prepare for the 2026 regulatory overhaul. By expanding Brembo’s role to encompass both the Formula 1 and WEC Hypercar programs, Maranello is ensuring a unified approach to high-performance braking dynamics across its most prestigious racing platforms. As the SF-26 takes shape, the integration of bespoke magnesium wheels from BBS and advanced braking systems from Brembo suggests that Ferrari is leaving no stone unturned in its quest to find a technical edge over its rivals.
Ferrari’s decision to solidify its ties with Brembo and BBS therefore marks a return to its roots of technical exclusivity, aiming to provide Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc with a uniquely optimized chassis for the 2026 season.
