On the Monday prior to the Imola weekend, the presentation of the Made in Italy and Emilia Romagna Grand Prix took place. During the conference, in addition to the President of the Region, Bonaccini, ministers Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini also intervened on behalf of the government. Matteo Salvini reiterated the commitment to a future coexistence of the Formula 1 races in Imola and Monza.
Connecting remotely, Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini began by talking about the Grand Prix: “The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix means work, tourism, beauty, and wealth. Obviously, my priority and our priority are to ensure the safety of both the Imola and Monza GPs, which can and must coexist.”
He continued: “I also hope that some bureaucratic issues that accompany the routes of the two circuits will be overcome.”
Later, in the context of “challenges posed by Europe regarding the ban on internal combustion engines,” he said: “I hope the entire political world comes together. Sustainability and green initiatives are absolutely fascinating challenges. Formula E races are great, but allow me to say that the roar of engines heard in Imola and Monza may bother some, but they fill me with joy and excitement. They are irreplaceable. As a minister and as a ministry, we are here not only with the 5 million euros we contribute economically but above all as cultural support,” he concluded.
