Not just seven world titles. Lewis Hamilton’s career has also been marked by moments of great difficulty, the latest of which is the beginning of his adventure with Ferrari. Yes, because despite all the pre-season celebrations, with a world title that almost seemed inevitable, the track is telling a very different story.
The SF-25 is not a championship-winning car. Or at least, not yet. In the first five races of 2025, the Maranello Red has shown it still has some issues to solve before it can fight for victory. And to do so, it will certainly need Lewis Hamilton’s help. In fact, despite the dominant victory in the Sprint Race of the Chinese Grand Prix, the Briton still seems unable to find confidence with his new single-seater.
Something that was predictable beforehand, to be clear. Changing teams and working methods after more than ten years undoubtedly requires an adaptation period, even for a driver of the caliber of number 44. The mistake—if it can even be called that—was believing that the former Mercedes driver would bring with him a magic wand to immediately return the world title to Maranello.
This is how you get out of it
But Lewis Hamilton knows how to come through difficult moments. He has already done it in the past and hopes to do it again at this new stage of his career. How? The Ferrari driver himself spoke about it during an event organized in London where he answered questions from some fans. “How do you keep going? How did you move forward after what happened in 2021?” asked one of the many supporters present.
“You must never give up, right? You just have to get back in the car and try to stay positive, to keep believing, and never give up. We feel alive when we face this kind of challenge. There is always a reason to do it. I am still hungry for victories,” Hamilton replied.
