The decision regarding the court case involving Ferrari president John Elkann has been officially postponed.
These are certainly not easy times for the president of Ferrari, who is still awaiting the outcome of the legal proceedings in which he is involved. Between a Juventus side in clear decline and a Scuderia Ferrari still struggling to find consistent performance on track, there is little serenity within the corridors of Exor, the holding company that controls both entities.
To complicate matters further, the Turin Prosecutor’s Office has decided to postpone until the end of November the approval of Elkann’s request for a probationary measure. The Stellantis chairman is under investigation for alleged fraud against the state, linked to the inheritance of his grandmother, the wife of Gianni Agnelli. The case originated from a complaint filed by Margherita Agnelli, mother of John Elkann, who has taken legal action to claim her paternal and maternal inheritance rights.
The decision date emerges
The Ferrari president had already agreed to pay €183 million to the Italian Revenue Agency (Agenzia delle Entrate) in order to request the probationary program. However, he will have to wait until November 28 for the final decision from the investigating judge. Should the request be accepted, Elkann will reportedly be required to carry out community service activities as a tutor in Salesian schools, assisting students, teachers, and school administrators.
The same trial also involves Gianluca Ferrero, the Agnelli family’s accountant and current Juventus president, as well as Remo Morone, the notary who handled the legal aspects of the case.
