One of the top drivers on the current Formula 1 grid is hoping for a Ferrari resurgence in 2026, with the clear aim of being able to fight wheel to wheel with Lewis Hamilton.
In a Formula 1 championship that continues to grow in popularity and global reach, having Ferrari consistently battling at the front would represent a huge boost for the sport worldwide. The FIA and Liberty Media are well aware of this, and even rival drivers themselves hope for it, fascinated by the prospect of racing against the Scuderia Ferrari, a team that continues to represent a dream for many within the paddock.
A world champion hopes for the Prancing Horse
Among those sharing this hope is one of the leading drivers of the current grid. Lando Norris, fresh from winning his first Formula 1 world championship, has not hidden his desire to be able to fight directly against Lewis Hamilton in the coming seasons. The seven-time world champion has always shown great respect for the McLaren driver, even congratulating him live on television after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
“I would love to be able to challenge Lewis a bit more,” Lando Norris said. “Throughout his career he has shown that he is probably the greatest driver in history. And everyone knows that if there is someone who can come back strongly after a difficult year, well, that is definitely him, and I really can’t wait to race against him.” – the McLaren driver pointed out.
The newly crowned world champion then added: “Being on track with the best drivers in the world, like Lewis, Max, or Fernando, is always a privilege, and all of us want to follow in their footsteps. Next year I think everyone will have opportunities, or at least that is what everyone hopes. They will certainly try to take the title away from me, but I will do everything I can to stop that from happening.”
