Before departing for the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, a delegation from Scuderia Ferrari made a special visit to the headquarters of Brembo, the global leader in high-performance braking systems, located at the Kilometro Rosso innovation district in Stezzano, near Bergamo. Leading the Ferrari group was Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur, accompanied by Deputy Team Principal Jérôme D’Ambrosio, Sporting Director Diego Ioverno, and reserve driver Guanyu Zhou.
The visit was organised to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Brembo’s partnership with Ferrari in Formula 1. The collaboration between the Italian brake manufacturer and the Maranello-based team began in 1975, when Brembo supplied cast iron brake discs for the Ferrari 312T — the car that went on to win both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships that season with Niki Lauda behind the wheel.
At the entrance of the Brembo headquarters, visitors were greeted by a display of the 2025 Ferrari SF-25. Inside, the Scuderia delegation was presented with Brembo’s newly unveiled exhibition wall, which showcases the company’s most significant innovations in motorsport over the past five decades. The display highlights Brembo’s contributions across the top categories of racing, including Formula 1, MotoGP, the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the World Superbike Championship (WorldSBK), Formula E, MotoE, NASCAR, and the World Rally Championship (WRC).
Welcoming the Ferrari delegation were Brembo’s top executives: Executive Chairman Matteo Tiraboschi, Honorary Chairman Alberto Bombassei, Chief Executive Officer Daniele Schillaci, Chief Operating Officer of Brembo Performance Mario Almondo, Chief Marketing Officer Mauro Piccoli, and Chief Communication Officer Luca Di Leo.
The visit included a tour of the company’s Racing facility located in Curno, a nearby municipality where all of Brembo’s high-performance braking systems for Ferrari — and other top-level motorsport teams — are designed and manufactured. This cutting-edge production site is the beating heart of Brembo Racing and is dedicated entirely to the development and creation of calipers, discs, brake pads, master cylinders, and brake-by-wire systems used across global motorsport championships, including Formula 1.
Frédéric Vasseur expressed his satisfaction with the visit, stating: “It is a great pleasure to celebrate Brembo’s 50th anniversary. They are one of our most historic and trusted partners, and we share a long legacy of success. This partnership is built on consistent teamwork, driven by shared values such as passion, innovation, and performance — values that have accompanied us throughout many victories and tell the story of a collaboration based on mutual expertise and common goals.”
Mario Almondo, Chief Operating Officer of Brembo Performance, also emphasised the deep bond between the two Italian institutions: “It’s truly a pleasure to welcome the Scuderia Ferrari HP team today, with whom we have shared a journey spanning half a century. It all began in 1975 with Niki Lauda, and from that moment on, we have continuously contributed our technological expertise to help make Ferrari’s race cars ever more competitive. Today, Brembo supplies braking systems to the entire Formula 1 grid — with nine teams using Brembo components and one team using AP Racing, which is also part of the Brembo Group. Yet, the story we share with Scuderia Ferrari remains unique and irreplaceable. This year is special, like every season in Formula 1 — full of challenges and high expectations. We are already working with Ferrari on the braking systems for the 2026 season.”
This visit not only celebrated a remarkable 50-year technical alliance but also reaffirmed Brembo and Ferrari’s shared commitment to innovation and excellence in Formula 1 and beyond.
