Frédéric Vasseur, Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari, has reassured fans and the press regarding Ferrari’s 2025 Formula 1 season, setting a clear and unambiguous goal for the team as they approach the second half of the championship.
The 2025 season for Ferrari has so far been devoid of traditional Grand Prix victories. The team’s only triumph came in the Sprint Race in China, while in standard Grand Prix events, Scuderia Ferrari has officially secured only podium finishes, without managing a win. Despite this, Fred Vasseur emphasized the team’s key objective: to break the winless streak at least once before the season concludes.
“We must prepare for the second half of the season, during which our goal is to contest for second place in the Constructors’ Championship. The primary objective is to win at least one more race before the end of the year,” Fred Vasseur stated, underlining the importance of maintaining focus and momentum.
The renewal of Vasseur’s contract, following weeks of speculation regarding his future, has provided a clear signal of stability for Ferrari. The team principal acknowledged the pressures caused by media rumors: “In recent weeks, some reports in the media have affected the stability and the environment within the team. Now, however, all of that is behind us,” he explained, signaling a renewed focus on performance and internal cohesion.
Delayed results: technical or strategic challenges?
Technical analyses of Ferrari’s performance in 2025 suggest that the team has struggled to find the ideal car setup, particularly during full-length Grand Prix races compared to Sprint events. The dominant setup used in China, which favored an “all-out power and low-weight” configuration, has proven difficult to replicate in standard Grand Prix conditions.
Nevertheless, Frédéric Vasseur maintains an optimistic perspective, emphasizing continuity, incremental improvements, and long-term strategic planning. “Overall performance is closer to the top compared to this time last year. If we can find the right balance, we can reignite our ambitions,” Fred Vasseur affirmed, highlighting the team’s potential despite early-season challenges.
Ferrari Chairman John Elkann has also expressed confidence in the management team and their strategic approach. “This is the right moment to reflect on a difficult start and to lay the foundations for the second half of the season. Stability is crucial to building a strong future,” John Elkann stated during the Hungarian Grand Prix, shortly after the announcement of Vasseur’s contract renewal.
As Ferrari enters the second half of the 2025 season, the team is guided by a clear mission, backed by strong leadership and a coherent strategic vision. The Sprint Race victory in China serves as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that the car and drivers have the potential to compete at the highest level. The challenge now is to translate that success into standard Grand Prix victories.
To achieve this, Scuderia Ferrari will need to combine consistency, competitiveness, and modern technical management. The foundations for a strong comeback are in place, and the next races will be crucial in determining whether Ferrari can reclaim its position at the front of the field and challenge for top results in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships.
