Italian daily newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Scuderia Ferrari engineers see significant room for improvement in their current race car model. Despite fierce competition, the experts at the Ferrari Racing Department believe there is a potential 10% improvement in their car’s performance.
The Hidden Potential of the SF-23
According to sources recently cited by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the team of Ferrari engineers sees a great deal of untapped potential in their 2023 Formula One single-seater, the SF-23. With the appropriate enhancements, the car could see a 10% increase in performance. This is not a small number in a field where every millisecond counts.
Chasing Red Bull
Despite the optimism, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that it won’t be easy for the Maranello team to fully bridge the gap with Red Bull Racing with the SF-23 alone. However, with an expected update plan in the coming weeks, Ferrari hopes to gradually reduce the deficit to the leading team and hopefully be able to challenge the Austrian side next season.
Aerodynamic Improvements on the Way
Scuderia Ferrari is not known for standing still while rivals make progress. They are introducing a low-downforce aerodynamic package in Belgium, which is expected to bring significant performance changes. Additionally, another update of this package can be expected during the season at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for the Italian Grand Prix, according to the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.
