According to the latest rumors, Ferrari Head of Chassis Area Enrico Cardile is pushing to bring forward the introduction of the new floor planned for the Austrian GP during the second seasonal filming day which will take place at the Fiorano circuit. Recent speculations have suggested that Ferrari is determined to adopt a more aggressive strategy, advancing all originally scheduled developments and utilizing the entire budget cap before the summer break.
Ferrari accelerates: the new floor ready for debut in Austria to be tested during the Fiorano filming day
The news is reported by colleagues from Formu1a.uno, who have always been closely connected to the Ferrari environment and are always very well-informed. According to Rosario Giuliana, Piergiuseppe Donadoni and Giuliano Duchessa, Enrico Cardile, the head of the aerodynamics department, would like to see the new floor on the SF23 during the second seasonal filming day at Fiorano on Tuesday.
The Prancing Horse had already introduced a second updated version of the SF-23 floor at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. This, together with the significant work done in the sidepod area, seems to have improved the performance of the SF-23. However, it is known that the real components that ensure performance for this generation of cars are to be found beneath the single-seater:
“The engineers have already been instructed to send the mold into production in the autoclave and make the parts available to the team in the upcoming race weekends,” – the Italian website Formu1a.uno reported on Thursday. Ferrari is racing against time to equip the SF23 with the updates as soon as possible.

However, the sprint format, which will take place for the second time this year in Austria, will make it very challenging to test the new components. For this reason, it will be crucial to introduce functioning parts in the shortest possible time. Furthermore, the package for the Red Bull Ring event in Spielberg would include a new front wing and brake ducts.
Using the on-track activity for promotional purposes during the 100km filming day would be a perfect opportunity for the Maranello team to field-test the new floor on the SF-23 car. However, finalizing such parts requires a significant production time. If the Maranello technicians do not manage to complete the task in time for Fiorano, the upgrades should still make their debut in Spielberg in just over a week, when the Austrian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place.
