At the end of Friday in Baku, Charles Leclerc spoke about the hopes of seeing Ferrari back in pole position after qualifying.
The goal is to further extend the positive streak, currently at four consecutive poles. Charles Leclerc knows this well and, at the conclusion of Friday in Baku, he discussed Ferrari’s hopes of coming out on top in Saturday’s qualifying session.
Ferrari, at least in the first two practice sessions, confirmed the expectations set before the weekend. The SF-25 seems to suit the characteristics of the Azerbaijan circuit well, and McLaren’s difficulties could make the weekend less predictable than usual.
Charles Leclerc’s words after practice in Azerbaijan
Despite this, Charles Leclerc asked for calm after a rather encouraging start to the weekend. “I think there is a lot of potential this weekend. Today we did a good job, but I want to extract even more performance. Our rivals look very strong, and I expect some surprises in qualifying. On this track, anything can happen, so we’ll see what the day brings. Tomorrow we will fight for a good starting position on the grid,” said the Monegasque at the end of FP2 in Baku.
Strong words that raise the bar at Ferrari after the first two sessions on track. Maranello’s team will now need to fine-tune the last details and reach qualifying in the best possible way.
