The Scuderia has arrived at the Red Bull Ring with the modifications that were evaluated during the filming day held by the team in Fiorano on Tuesday. In Spielberg, the Maranello team has brought the new front wing, which is completely redesigned in every detail. The engineers have also increased the engine cover air vents to six openings instead of four, necessary to combat the thin air at the 700 meters of Styria.
Ferrari has brought a substantial package of updates to Austria, which the team from Maranello had tested during the Filming Day in Fiorano on Tuesday. Thanks to the keen eye of Motorsport’s Giorgio Piola, we can show you the first two elements that make up the SF-23 Evo upgrade.
In the Red Bull Ring pit lane, we observe the new front wing in direct comparison with the version we saw running in the Canadian Grand Prix. It is a completely new design in all its components, demonstrating a different approach to airflow with an orientation towards concepts that are typical of Red Bull.

The main profile now has a significantly shorter chord, with a central spoon that shows less pronounced blowing. The supporting element of the new wing is the second element on which the nose of the nosecone rests: this has become a larger profile, while the last two flaps appear noticeably shorter in chord. In the outermost portion, the “channel” that is intended to increase the outwash effect has been enhanced, with the aim of increasing the airflow outside the front wheel. The adjustable flap, in fact, stops at the height of the incidence control, so the fourth element that joins the side wall is nothing more than a second small flap derived from the third element.
A nolder has been mounted on the trailing edge of the last flap, on the outer declining side, while near the nose, the incidence has been reduced to increase the flow to be channeled towards the Venturi channels.

Consequently, the endplate is completely new: the four blowouts have been repositioned according to the design of the new elements, showing how the center of pressure of the wing has changed. The appearance of a small horizontal strake on the inside, reminiscent of the RB19 car, does not go unnoticed. The shape of the side wall is also different: it was trapezoidal, while now the upper part has been smoothed with a more rounded design.
The profile of the endplate is more cambered outward on the exit, and the outer profile that had an S-shape now has a curvilinear upward shape.
Even the engine cover on the right side shows increased hot air venting: in Montreal, there were only four openings, while in Spielberg, the gills have become six to better extract the heat from the radiators due to the thin air at an altitude of 700 meters.
