After the incident at turn 5, Charles Leclerc’s car returned to the pit lane, where f1ingenerale was able to capture some details of the car. Here is one of the first images of the Ferrari SF-24 floor at the Hungarian GP.
Scuderia Ferrari arrived at the Budapest circuit eager for redemption and introduced a new version of the floor for the Hungarian round. We do not know which of the two drivers was using the updated specification, but Leclerc’s incident at turn 5 undermined part of the planned work. Upon the car’s return to the box, we managed to capture the first images of the Ferrari SF-24 floor seen here in Hungary.
The Prancing Horse car had to face three difficult Grands Prix between Spain, Austria, and Great Britain. The fast corners that triggered the bouncing reduced the car’s performance, with the suspension system unable to handle the additional load.
Since the Barcelona round, the SF-24 has suffered from roll, which has prevented the aerodynamic platform from working properly. To address this bouncing issue, Ferrari’s technicians sought a quick solution.

Targeted interventions to isolate the floor
The first solution, as we reported, was to stiffen the floor, especially in the area of the Floor Edge Wing, the point of greatest flexion. By improving this area, Ferrari aimed to limit the impact of bouncing. However, it is necessary to understand and apply a setup that better optimizes this stiffer floor.

After just one practice session, Ferrari has not yet managed to implement the right setup but has taken the right direction in its work. We do not know if Charles Leclerc’s specification is the updated one with the modifications made, but our photos captured some of the shapes that characterize it.
The photo we managed to take does not capture the entire SF-24 floor but one of the parts subject to modifications in this version. From the image, we can see the fences that direct the flow toward the floor edge wing to feed the vortex that seals the floor. Just behind, we can see a sort of skid separating the central channel and the floor edge wing channel. Probably for the management of the flows under the car, Ferrari has chosen the path of physically dividing the flows. Finally, in the rear part, we can see some cracks in the diffuser walls.
Primo sguardo al fondo della #Ferrari #SF24
Non siamo riusciti a cogliere nella loro interezza i Canali Venturi, ma possiamo comunque notare l’andamento delle fences.
