Interviewed by Italian newspaper “Il Resto del Carlino”, Pietro Benvenuti,General Manager of Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola, talked about the plan for the Formula 1 Made in Italy and Emilia Romagna Grand Prix that will be staged in the last week of April this week, underlining how the hope of the organizers is to open the stands of the venue and to host at least 80,000 people during the race weekend. A result that would offer an absolutely unforgettable scenario, especially if we consider the last two editions which were held behind closed doors.
“The race in Imola is scheduled for the end of April and in the meantime some, a lot if not all of the restrictions related to Covid 19 could be dropped,” said Pietro Benvenuti. “This obviously could open up new and interesting scenarios. Personally, I consider myself quite optimistic that this year’s event could turn out to be more “free” than in the past” – he added.
“We will start with the sale of tickets assuming 75% of the capacity for each single grandstand, but with the hope of being able to go up. Then there is the matter of the general space on the green area for which, perhaps, 50% of the seats could be kept. If there are not too many limits, in any case, our goal is still to have 80,000 people to attend the Formula 1 Grand Prix this year.” – Imola General Director Pietro Benvenuti concluded.
