The goal for Ferrari is to reverse the trend of recent races that seem to have relegated them to the role of the fourth strongest team.

After a positive start to the season and two race victories at the Albert Park circuit in Australia and on the streets of Monte Carlo in Monaco, the aerodynamic updates brought to the SF-24 have caused some problems for the Scuderia’s engineers. In particular, the package introduced in Barcelona has caused the most headaches.

The increased aerodynamic load has put the car’s mechanics in trouble, bringing back the issue of bouncing. In Hungary, the first correction to the floor was introduced, which showed positive results both in Budapest and Spa.

Ferrari at Zandvoort with updates

Thanks to the data collected in recent weekends, it seems that Maranello has understood which area of the car needs intervention to solve the major problems.

For this reason, as reported by motorsport.com, Ferrari will take to the track in the Netherlands with a floor modified from the one seen in Belgium.

The changes should mainly involve the geometry of the rear part of the floor. In particular, Ferrari’s engineers have changed the way the airflow reaches the diffuser.

The goal is to eliminate the instability that has been troubling Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. It is crucial to restore confidence to the drivers so they can fully exploit the potential of the SF-24.

The new specification should also provide increased aerodynamic load, which is essential for the layout of the Dutch circuit. The data seen in the simulator appears to be positive.

Scuderia Ferrari hopes that the Dutch Grand Prix, as happened last year, could be a turning point in the season. It was at Zandvoort, in fact, that Ferrari carried out data collection work that was later used to greatly improve the car in the remaining races of the year.

We’ll have to wait a few more days for answers. The summer break is over, and now it’s time for the track to do the talking.
