Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc won the Driver of the Day award after finishing in second place in the 2021 British Grand Prix at the Silverstone track.
After starting fourth, he led almost every lap of the race, nursing engine issues along the way in his Ferrari. In the end he could not quite hold off a charging Lewis Hamilton, but Charles Leclerc’s superbly judged Silverstone drive understandably got your nod.
The Driver of the Day is a fan-voting feature introduced in the 2016 Formula One Season, allowing fans to vote their best-performing drivers of the race. It is the second award for Charles Leclerc this season, after also receiving it at the end of the Styrian Grand Prix.
Here’s how the voting broke down for the 2021 British Grand Prix at Silverstone:
Charles Leclerc – 34.5%
Lewis Hamilton – 13.4%
Max Verstappen – 12.9%
Lando Norris – 6.7%
Sergio Perez – 6%
