Charles Leclerc realistic but confident about Ferrari at Monza
Charles Leclerc has kept a balanced outlook on Ferrari’s chances at Monza for the Italian Grand Prix, admitting that McLaren currently looks very strong but insisting that opportunities for the Scuderia still exist. During media day ahead of the Italian GP, the Monegasque driver carefully assessed Ferrari’s potential from now until the end of the 2025 Formula 1 season, outlining realistic podium chances in the coming races.
“With a McLaren this strong, there isn’t really a track where we are stronger,” Charles Leclerc admitted when asked which circuits could offer Ferrari more than just a podium finish. Despite that, the Ferrari driver identified a handful of venues where the SF-25 could close the gap and challenge for higher positions.
The tracks where Ferrari could win according to Leclerc
Among the circuits mentioned by Charles Leclerc were Baku, Monza, Singapore, and Las Vegas, each of them featuring unique characteristics that could play in Ferrari’s favor against McLaren and Red Bull.
“Some tracks where we could be closer are Baku in qualifying, Monza where surprises are always possible, Singapore, and Las Vegas,” Charles Leclerc explained. “Vegas is very particular, while Singapore requires a perfect qualifying. Overall it will be difficult, but there are opportunities.”
Even with the evident gap to McLaren, currently the car to beat in Formula 1, the Monza circuit may provide an unexpected twist. At Ferrari, there is hope for a flawless weekend, perhaps aided by external factors such as weather conditions or the intervention of a safety car.
Charles Leclerc arrives at Monza fully aware that qualifying will be crucial to maximize the SF-25’s potential. Still, even if the starting position is not ideal, the Temple of Speed is always unpredictable, and anything can happen on race day. With the passionate Tifosi creating an atmosphere like no other, Ferrari will count on their support as an extra weapon in the fight for the podium and, perhaps, for victory at home.
