Charles Leclerc finally gets past Isack Hadjar in Canadian GP fight
Charles Leclerc made an important move on lap 39 of the Canadian Grand Prix, finally clearing Isack Hadjar after a tense battle for position. The Ferrari driver managed to move ahead of the Red Bull youngster and take fourth place, putting himself directly behind teammate Lewis Hamilton.
The fight between Charles Leclerc and Isack Hadjar had already attracted attention from race control, with the French driver noted for his actions during their duel. That means a potential penalty could still become a factor later in the race, depending on how the stewards judge the incident.
For Ferrari, the overtake was a key moment in the race. Charles Leclerc had been stuck behind Isack Hadjar at a stage where track position was crucial, and clearing the Red Bull allowed him to join the fight closer to the front. With Lewis Hamilton running just ahead, Ferrari suddenly had both cars placed inside the top four.
The move also underlined how difficult overtaking can be in Montreal when cars are closely matched, especially through the traction zones and braking areas around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Charles Leclerc needed patience before finally finding the chance to make the pass stick.
By moving into fourth, Charles Leclerc gave Ferrari a stronger platform for the final phase of the Canadian Grand Prix. The Scuderia still needed to manage tyre performance and race pace carefully, but having both the Briton and the Moneagsque near the podium positions offered a valuable opportunity to score major points.
