American actor and film producer Brad Pitt has put a hold on the production of the Formula 1 film. At least for now. The actor has decided to pause the filming to show solidarity with the Hollywood strikes.
The first scenes of the highly anticipated movie were shot during the Silverstone Grand Prix. Subsequently, the film crew followed the Formula 1 teams around Europe to continue the filming of “Apex”. However, with the writers’ strike, which also saw actors joining the union, all TV and movie productions have been suspended.
British tabloid newspaper ‘The Sun’ reports that Brad Pitt has suspended the filming of his movie. The production will resume in the next two months, as agreed upon earlier:
“The cast and crew of Apex were shooting in Budapest (Hungary). Brad requested that future dates be postponed in solidarity with all those on strike.”
Postponing the production incurs significant financial costs. Yet, the Oscar-winning actor hasn’t been discouraged; instead, he has shown full support for everyone he’s working with.

Another source told Deadline that the crew was supposed to shoot at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, where the last race before the Formula 1 summer break took place. However, the studios halted the filming.
If everything goes according to plan, the production will resume in Las Vegas next November, coinciding with the first Grand Prix in the state of Nevada. Currently, all parties involved hope for an agreement to be reached – between writers, actors, and film studios. However, the resolution process is still ongoing.
The Formula 1 film features Brad Pitt in the lead role and as a producer, alongside seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
